For fighting him (which the item is very helpful for Chaos King fight) you want to defend with the whole team to get 48 + whatever you can gather, and use that for Susie's Rude Buster or Ralsei's Heal Prayer. Also don't be afraid to use items in the fight, i had that problem and Jevil is a point where it's okay.
For armor, equip the IronShackle to Susie and the WhiteRibbon and DiceBrace to Ralsei, for the rest of the armor slots use the AmberCard. Sparing Jevil was easier for me when I first beat him, since Hypnosis makes his moves do less damage. If you want to spare, you'll want to defend until you have at least 75% TP.
